Warm Up Columbia

Voluntary Action Center will Warm Up Columbia on Saturday, October 17. Free coats and blankets will be distributed from 9 a.m. until noon at The Armory, located at 701 East Ash. Items will be given to low income families, children, the eldery and disabled who live in Boone County. Distribution is first come, first served. Special thanks to Kathy Hull, Commerce Bank and local churches for their assistance with this event.
If you would like to help out with Warm Up Columbia, contact Cindy Mustard at cindymustard2@gmail.com. Volunteers are needed on Friday, October 16 to help with sorting.
Columbia Volunteer Network
The Columbia Volunteer Network is a group of people who work with volunteers as all or part of their job. Membership is free and meetings are held quarterly.
The Columbia Volunteer Network is hosting a special meeting on Wednesday, October 7 in the Virginia Young Room of the Columbia Public Library. Rick Skinner, director of the Volunteer Center for the United Way of Greater St. Louis, will be the speaker. The program will begin at 11:00, with lunch and networking including. Cost is $12. Payment can be sent to Voluntary Action Center at 800 N. Providence, Suite 220, Columbia, MO 65203. Deadline to register is Monday, October 5.
